Yameen exists because the software small workshops are offered is either built for a different market, only speaks English, or assumes there is someone on staff to run it.
What the name means
Yameen (يمين) means the right hand — and it means an oath, a promise given. Both readings are the point. A workshop owner's right hand is the person they trust to keep things straight when they cannot be in two places at once, and a promise is only worth anything if it is kept. That is the standard we are building to.
What we believe
Arabic is not a translation layer
Half this region works in Arabic. Bolting a language file onto an English product and mirroring the CSS is not the same as designing for both, and it shows immediately to anyone who reads Arabic.
The books should keep themselves
You issue an invoice; the accounting happens underneath. Nobody opening a garage wanted to become a bookkeeper, and they should not have to be one to know whether the month was profitable.
Your data is yours
Export it whenever you like. Software that holds your customer list hostage is not a partner, and a workshop that cannot leave is not a workshop that chose to stay.
Where we are going
Bahrain first, because it is home and because a market you can actually visit is the one you can build the right thing for. Then the wider GCC, where the regulations, currencies and working patterns are close enough to serve properly — and MENA after that. We would rather be genuinely right for one region than approximately right for all of them.
